SUPEROCEAN AUTOMATIC 36

Performance and style for all your aquatic activities. In the 1960s, scuba diving became fashionable; it was a new sport. For divers, time is everything, and Breitling set out to offer them the clearest diving watch possible, eliminating any features that did not serve to save lives underwater. This simplified watch was named the Superocean Slow Motion. The model retained its clean lines, the robust luminescent indexes, the square hands and the high-contrast dial ring, all aimed at maximum legibility. Practical, yes. But what really won everyone over was its look. The new Superocean takes up the famous Slow Motion design codes, while adding modern elements such as a bezel with scratch-resistant ceramic inlays and brightly colored dials. Its wide hands and indexes in luminescent Super-LumiNova®, in a gradient of rainbow colors, allow for easy readability underwater (and add a fun touch). The watch is water resistant to 300 m (1,000 ft), and is shock, sand and saltwater resistant. The bronze version uses a special alloy that offers excellent corrosion resistance, but develops a subtle patina over time that makes the watch even more unique. The rubber strap features a butterfly clasp that allows micro-adjustments of up to 15 mm for easy wear over water clothing and wetsuits. For added security, the bezel is unidirectional. Best of all, this is no longer strictly a diving watch: you can surf, swim and go to the beach bar in it, and then wear it out to dinner. The Superocean perfectly balances the nostalgia of its heritage with a fresh new look.
